Hey guys, if you’re like me, you may have recently come across a platform called Ultimate Autographs that advertises the chance to win authentic signed sports memorabilia at a fraction of the price. That definitely had me curious, so I had to try it out for myself. Of course, I document everything I do and share it with you all, so hopefully this helps if you’re looking to buy a break spot from Ultimate Autographs.
Ultimate Autographs Key Terms
First things first, to understand Ultimate Autographs, you have to understand what live breaks are and some of the terms Ultimate Autographs uses during their breaks. It honestly took me a while to fully figure everything out, so hopefully this guide makes it a lot easier for you.
- Break
- This refers to the actual opening of a box. They basically have a mystery box, and based on the break type they are doing, they will open that box. If you bought a break spot in that series and break type, you are eligible to win that item.
- Break Series
- A break series is themed around all of the items available in the breaks. They show a graphic with all of the items that could potentially be given away to winners.
- Break Type
- Single, double, or quad are the different break types. This refers to how many items they will be breaking within the 8 spots available per break. For example, if you are in a single break, you have a 1 in 8 chance of winning. In a quad break, they break 4 items, meaning there are 4 chances to win across the 8 spots. Since one person can potentially win multiple times, the odds are not guaranteed to be exactly 50%, but your chances are significantly higher than a single break and close to 50%.
- Break Room
- This is a live stream where you can tune in and watch them do all of the breaks. As the spots in each break fill up, they will begin breaking the items live.
What is Ultimate Autographs?
Ultimate Autographs is a company that constantly gets access to real, authenticated autographed memorabilia like helmets, jerseys, footballs, and more signed by some of the best athletes in the world. Most of their products are NFL-related, but they also feature MLB and other sports memorabilia as well. They offer really cool and unique helmet and jersey designs that you have probably never seen before.
They then take this memorabilia and essentially give it away to people who buy a spot in their live break series. That is basically the concept, and honestly, it is pretty cool. The next question is, how does it actually work?
How does Ultimate Autographs work?
As mentioned above, the first thing you have to do to be eligible to win signed memorabilia is buy a spot in a break series. They offer a ton of different break series based on the inventory they have available, including breaks for signed full-size helmets, signed jerseys, mini helmets, and more.
Every break has 8 people eligible to win, and the break will launch once all 8 spots are filled.
Each break also has different types: single, double, and quad breaks. This refers to the number of items that will be released during that break. For example, if you buy a spot in a single break, you have 1 chance to win out of the 8 spots. In a double break, there are 2 items released, and in a quad break, there are 4 chances to win. Since one person can potentially win multiple times, the odds are not guaranteed to be evenly split, but your chances improve with larger break types.
My experience with Ultimate Autographs?
I decided to start with the lowest barrier to entry by buying one spot in a single break for their Red Option Jersey Series. It only cost me $31, so it felt like a safe way to test everything out and really understand how the platform works.
Right after buying my spot, I entered the Break Room, which is where I quickly learned how the entire process works. I joined through Twitch, but you can also watch the same break room on YouTube and Facebook. Everything is synced together, including the live chat comments across all of the platforms.
I asked a question in the chat, and the hosts responded almost immediately, explaining how everything worked and thanking me for buying a spot. They then asked me what teams I liked, and as a Bears fan, they naturally had to ask me about my favorite Italian beef spot in Chicago.
It was actually really fun and engaging being able to interact with them live, have them acknowledge me so quickly, and help me learn how the platform works.
Unfortunately, the break type in the series I bought did not fill up for a couple of days, so I did not actually get to watch my first break happen live. I also lost my first break, which was a bit of a bummer. But for only $31 in a single break, I knew my odds were relatively low, so it was not a huge deal.
After that, I decided to buy two spots in a double break, which significantly improved my odds. And lo and behold, I won. I ended up winning a signed Charlie Garner 49ers jersey, which was pretty awesome.
Conclusion: Is Ultimate Autographs Worth It?
Based on my experience, I would say it was worth it. I spent about $150 on break spots and ended up winning a signed jersey that I have seen listed online for $300+. Not to mention, it was genuinely exciting and fun to be a part of.
That said, if you are only looking to get memorabilia from one specific team or player, then it may not be for you. But if you are a sports fan, collector, or someone who enjoys the thrill of a mystery surprise, you will definitely enjoy the experience.
