The Clippers opened the game on a 17-6 run to set the tone early and outscored the Wizards by 16 points in the first quarter. Washington kept the deficit from growing in the second quarter, but then the Clippers’ starters ripped off a 19-6 run to start the second half and open up a 28 point lead. The Wizards responded with a 25-5 run later in the half to narrow the deficit, but it was too late to change the final outcome.
Although Washington has been eliminated from the tournament, they still have work to do in Las Vegas. They will play a consolation game against the loser of Wednesday’s game between the Bulls and Mavericks at 6 pm Eastern Time on Friday.
