Winners and losers from Broncos' first preseason game

The Denver Broncos went down in defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in the first preseason game of the year on Saturday evening. The team got off to a sloppy start on both sides of the ball but managed to make it interesting by the end of the night.

Still, the Broncos have several areas to focus on before the regular season kicks off in less than a month.

But we’re not going to just focus on the negative. There were plenty of positives to be drawn from this game as well.

Here are the winners and losers from Saturday night’s game.

The biggest winner of the game for the Broncos was easily Chad Kelly, who outshined Paxton Lynch by such a margin that many fans think it was the knockout blow for Lynch’s Denver career.

Kelly had command of the offense and flung the ball around with authority, showing no fear while making each throw. He led the team on two scoring drives and passed for 177 yards in just about a quarter and a half of...
