The NFL runs the newswire, even on a Saturday that was being dominated by college football upsets and huge games.
In what can only be described as shocking news, the Cleveland Browns have released star wide receiver, Josh Gordon.
Gordon was initially ruled out of the Browns week 2 game against the New Orleans Saints with an apparent hamstring injury. By Saturday evening, Gordon was cut, sending shock waves through the NFL community. It’s still early, so the initial reaction from social media and NFL analyst, centers on whether Gordon had another setback with marijuana or alcohol.
Gordon was late reporting to Brown’s training camp, as he released a statement saying that he wanted to use the extra time away from camp, to “work on his mental health,” and he was attempting to have his best NFL season yet. Ian Rapoport is reporting that Gordon was late for practice on Saturday, and his release could be more about the Browns no longer trusting their star.
