The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may not be entering 2019 as Super Bowl favorites, or even legitimate playoff contenders, but this is a team on the up-and-up thanks to a new coaching staff and young crop of talent.
The Buccaneers were surprisingly good on offense in 2018, ranking third in the league behind both the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams, respectively. But when you have a defense that ranked 27th overall and you finish with a record of 5-11, it’s understandable why you’d be overlooked heading into 2019.
But don’t tell that to the Bucs, who seem to be going full-steam ahead this offseason by restocking their defense in the draft. And, as it turns out, the rookie defensive backs have been the biggest offseason surprise so far for the Bucs, according to ESPN.
