It did not take long for the Jacksonville Jaguars to put some points up on the scoreboard in their first game since the heartbreaking AFC Championship loss. Quarterback Blake Bortles led the first-team offense on a poised drive to the end zone before most fans could even tune in.
The Jaguars offense marched right down the field with ease with a 15-play drive for 75 yard. Bortles went 6-of-9 on the drive and ran the ball into the end zone for a two-yard score.
It may be early on in a football game that is technically meaningless, but boy does it sure feel good to see the Jaguars find success right off the bat. We are going to try and avoid preseason overreactions, but fans can’t help but like the start the Jags have gotten off to.
We’ll continue our updates throughout the game as the Jags attempt to get a win in front of the home crowd at TIAA Bank Field.
