The Falcons have a solid roster but could use some upgrades and fresh blood on both sides of the trenches, especially with the expectation that Dontari Poe will sign with another team soon.
To help plug the rather large hole left behind by Poe, Atlanta might want to consider Washington defensive tackle Vita Vea.
Our tireless friends at Draft Wire came out with a list of priority draft picks for each team in the NFL this year recently, and Vea was the name they chose for the Falcons. Here’s what they had to say.
Vea is a massive force with surprising athleticism and explosiveness for his size, and is a rare space-eating defender who can also rush the passer effectively. Adding him to the mix with their first-round pick would leave opposing quarterbacks nowhere to run against this defensive front.
Adding Vea to Atlanta’s front four would be the next logical step in Dan Quinn’s movement towards a faster, nastier defensive line that may soon be one of the best in the NFL.
