Kyle Sloter did not make the Broncos’ 53-man roster last summer so some fans in Denver may think he has a beef with the team.
That’s not the case, though, as the Broncos tried to sign Sloter to their 10-man practice squad but he opted to sign with the Vikings instead. Sloter thought he had a better chance to be promoted to Minnesota’s 53-man roster than Denver’s 53-man roster (and he was right).
Sloter made a career choice — he wasn’t scorned by the Broncos.
So when the Vikings and Sloter faced Denver in their preseason opener Saturday evening, there were no hard feelings on either side.

“I’ve got a ton of respect for the entire organization,” Sloter said of the Broncos after a 42-28 win. “The fan base, ever since the time I left, they’ve shown me nothing but love.
