The Minnesota Vikings have released their final injury report leading up to Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals at U.S. Bank Stadium, and they’ve ruled three starts as being out for the contest.
Defensive end Everson Griffen (non-injury) will not make his return on Sunday, and we’ve already talked about the absence of left tackle Riley Reiff and the shuffling that will entail on the offensive line.
The other starter that will be missing for the Vikings is safety Andrew Sendejo, who didn’t practice all week with a groin injury. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Vikings handle Sendejo’s absence. The purple have used a lot of a three-safety look this year so far, with Sendejo and Harrison Smith most frequently joined by Jayron Kearse in those sets. This could be the gateway for getting late free agent signing George Iloka into the act defensively, or the team could give some snaps to Anthony Harris, who has proven himself more than capable in the past.
The other player that has been ruled out is defensive end Tashawn Bower, who will miss his second straight game with an ankle injury. This will again leave the Vikings with just Danielle Hunter and Stephen Weatherly at defensive end, though rookie Jalyn Holmes would figure to play a prominent role...
