The Titans won’t get a good look at what their players can do against the Packers’ starters. Most of Green Bay’s big-name players won’t even be dressed for the preseason opener at Lambeau Field according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
The Packers have had so much continuity that they can afford to sit a bunch of starters in Week 1 of the regular season. With three other preseason games to play, they have plenty of time to get up to speed.
Tennessee doesn’t have such a luxury with an influx of new talent they’re looking to work in, and an entirely new coaching staff that’s installing new systems on both sides of the football. The Titans will play just about anyone who’s healthy Thursday night for at least a few snaps. It stands to reason the Titans starters should fare pretty well against a host of Packers reserves.
