Titans QB Marcus Mariota says injury will 'feel better as it wants to'

An elbow injury Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota sustained in the season opener against Miami has kept him sidelined since he was forced to leave the game.

He gave an update on his injury in Wednesday’s post-practice press conference.

“It’s really the whole hand,” he said.”But the numbness and the tingliness is a couple fingers, the weakness is kind of the whole hand and that’s what I’ve been working on.”

Mariota wanted to play against the Houston Texans on Sunday, and the decision came down to the wire.

“It was close, and ultimately the coaches made the decision,” he said. “It’s for the betterment of the team.”

If you’ve spent time around him, you know Mariota is practically the definition of composure. But on gameday, he wasn’t so much.

“Obviously I wanted to be out there with the guys,” he said. “I just kind of let my emotions go over.”
