While the Seattle Seahawks didn’t win the Super Bowl, they did finish at the top of the league in one very important event. Team Seattle Seahawks won the annual Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge . . . by a landslide.
Team Seattle Seahawks raised over double the amount of the second-place finisher, the New England Patriots.
Through various events, donors helped to raise $234,045 for Food Lifeline, which will provide over one million meals to those in need. The team was awarded a $10,000 first place prize from the Taste of the NFL to add to its total donation.
The Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge is a year-round fundraising competition between all 32 teams in support of food banks around the nation.
Team Seattle Seahawks, led by Chef John Howie and former player Craig Terrell, have won the challenge four times over the last six seasons, raising over $770,000 for Food Lifeline.
