The Seattle Seahawks may have not made it past the postseason this year, but Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin’s stand out play hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Baldwin was recently named a nominee for the “Male Sports Star of the Year” award at the 83rd annual MTRWestern Sports Star of the Year Awards. The annual event, which honors Seattle’s sports legends and top talent, will take place this Thursday at the Sheraton Hotel in Seattle.
The Seahawks wideout is the sixth-straight Seahawk to be nominated for the award since 2012.
Baldwin recently made his second-consecutive appearance at the Pro Bowl after leading the Seahawks in receiving yards this season. He completed 75 receptions for 991 yards and eight touchdowns in 2017.
Aside from his dominant performance on the field, Baldwin has been a key leader in developing the Seahawks’ Players Equality and Justice For All Action Fund, which raised over $1 million in donations.
Baldwin will face tough competition on Thursday night as Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz, WSU football quarterback Luke Falk, Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei and UW football wide receiver Dante Pettis are all up for this year’s...
