In an update that should not surprise anyone, San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard will reportedly miss the rest of the 2018 NBA playoffs.

Kawhi Leonard sat out all but nine games of the 2017-18 NBA season due to a right quadriceps injury, leaving the San Antonio Spurs with a LaMarcus Aldridge-headlined squad and a difficult task at making the playoffs. However, in the second-to-last game of the year, the Spurs managed to break into the postseason for the 21st consecutive campaign.

However, this did not change Leonard’s status, who missed the final three months of the season. This carried into Game 1 against the Golden State Warriors, which he did not play in.

Well, do not expect anything to change for Monday’s Game 2. In fact, this goes for the entire postseason. Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reported that Leonard will not return in the playoffs due to injury rehab. The Spurs star made “strides” recently in his recovery, but wants to return at “full health” after a team-collaborated rehab program.

The Spurs and Leonard’s “group” working together can’t be a bad thing, right? If there’s communication from both sides, it means they at least know the situation and have not kept the organization in the dark.
