The Washington Wizards' hopes for a 2018 Summer League championship were dashed in the first round of the playoffs, as they suffered a 89-74 defeat to the L.A. Clippers on Wednesday night.
Don't worry, the Wizards won't mind. NBA teams enjoy the Summer League and the opportunity to get their young prospects valuable playing time. But no one really wants to go the distance in the postseason. Anyone who has been to the city of Las Vegas can tell you that there is a shelf-life before the mind, body and soul tells you it's time to get the heck out of there and back to society.
They also still have another game in the consolation round on Friday at 6 p.m. They will play the loser of the Bulls and Mavs.
