Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry has signed his franchise tag tender, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Last week, Landry notified the Dolphins that he would be signing his tag this week.
It has been over two weeks since the Dolphins placed the franchise tag on Landry. During the week of the NFL combine, the Dolphins gave Landry’s agent permission to seek a trade from another team.
The Dolphins could also keep Landry, but they would have to pay the three-time Pro Bowler $15.9 million this upcoming season. The problem with paying Landry is that the Dolphins are $20 million over the salary cap before the start of the new league year, which begins on March 14.
In four seasons, Landry has caught 400 passes for 4,038 yards and 22 touchdowns.
