We grew tired of disagreeing with other people’s position rankings so we decided to come up with our own.
On Wednesday, we broke down who we think are the top-10 quarterbacks in the NFL heading into the 2018 season. Matt Ryan of the Falcons came in at No. 5 on that list, which you can find here.
Today we’re moving over to the running back position, where another Atlanta star cracked the top 10.
Let’s start with some notable omissions.
Dion Lewis: Evaluating former Patriots running backs may be one of the most difficult tasks for any NFL analyst. Their unique track-record at the position makes it hard to tell how much of the success is because of individual talent and how much of it is scheme. For what it’s worth, Lewis looks like the real deal.

Christian McCaffrey: Right now it looks bad the Panthers picked McCaffrey ahead of Kareem Hunt, Dalvin Cook and Alvin Kamara. You can never guess when a class like that will come along, though. McCaffrey’s rushing production was underwhelming as a rookie but he looks like the best receiver of the bunch, and that’s really saying...
