Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce believes Gordon Hayward will have a “solid” 2018-19 campaign, but doesn’t think Hayward will put up All-Star numbers.
Appearing on Friday’s edition of ESPN’s “The Jump,” Pierce said it’s going to take Hayward some time to get his groove back after missing a year of basketball and predicts the swingman will be in form after the All-Star break.

“With the way this Boston Celtics team is constructed, it’s going to be hard for him to really put up big stats because they’re so deep and well-rounded,” Pierce said.
“But I really expect him to have a solid year. Not an All-Star year. You know, when you take a year off of basketball, and then you come back playing against the best players in the world, it’s going to take him some time to get his groove back.
