Panthers safety Damian Parms suffered a shoulder injury in Thursday night’s preseason game against the Bills. This morning, he was placed on the injured reserve list.
Carolina announced the move on its website moments ago.
Taking his place on the roster will be former Lions cornerback Alex Carter, who has only played in one NFL game after getting picked in the third round of the 2015 draft by Detroit.
Carter played his college football at Stanford and was most recently on the Seahawks practice squad. He was waived by Seattle 10 days ago.
At 6-foot and 200 pounds, Carter should help fill a void that’s been created by a number of recent injuries at the cornerback position. During yesterday’s training camp practice, only three corners actually suited up.
