Our 2018 free agent target profiles for the Carolina Panthers continues here with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Sammy Watkins.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and 211 pounds, Watkins is a star-caliber receiver that has found success with two different teams and a multitude of quarterbacks, including Kyle Orton, E.J. Manuel, Tyrod Taylor and most recently, Jared Goff. After a quiet start to the 2017 season with the Rams after being traded from Buffalo, Watkins caught a touchdown pass in six of the Rams’ last eight regular season games. He caught eight touchdowns total in his first season in Los Angeles and 25 total in his four-year career.

Watkins effective played every game in 2017, only missing Week 17 against the 49ers when the Rams sat just about everybody in preparation for the playoffs. Officially, Watkins has not played a full 16-game season since his rookie year in 2014. He has dealt with injury concerns in the past, including being in the NFL’s concussion protocol earlier this season.
