Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy is sticking with veteran Byron Bell as his starter at right guard.
McCarthy confirmed Bell will start his third straight game on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.
“Byron will be the starter this week, that’s the way we’re preparing,” McCarthy said.
Bell, who signed a one-year deal with the Packers on May 30, took over at right guard after Justin McCray injured his shoulder during Green Bay’s loss to Washington in Week 3.
McCray is healing up, but the Packers will move forward with Bell.
“He’s consistent. He has a lot of experience,” McCarthy said of Bell. “He’s comfortable and I like the job that he’s done.”
