Oklahoma Pro Day draws quite a bit of interest from Chargers

On Wednesday, the 2019 league year and free agency kicked off. While Chargers general manager Tom Telesco was hard at work bringing in quarterback Tyrod Taylor and re-signing defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, members of the staff were hard at work preparing for the future.

Offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, offensive line coach Pat Meyer and national scout Tom McConnaughey got a good look at quarterback Kyler Murray along with a few other prospects at Oklahoma’s Pro Day, according to ESPN’s Eric D. Williams.

Murray is considered to be the top quarterback in the 2019 NFL draft, and there’s a strong chance that he goes No. 1 overall to the Cardinals. Despite all the chatter of him going high, Los Angeles has been doing their homework on the prolific quarterback. They recently interviewed him at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, and coach Anthony Lynn was impressed with Murray.

While it is probably possible that Murray is off the board by the time the Bolts select at No. 28, the draft is entirely unpredictable and crazier things have happened in past years, so anything is possible, if they thought he was their...
