Mike D'Antoni on Clint Capela: 'People sleep on him a little bit'

Outside of James Harden, nobody was more valuable to the Rockets than Clint Capela in Sunday’s 104-101 Game 1 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Capela put up 24 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in the win, and Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni once again pointed out how under-appreciated the fourth-year Swiss big man is.

“He was sitting at the kids’ table for a long time,” D’Antoni said. “Now, he’s giving toasts and stuff like that. He’s definitely undervalued. He won’t be this summer when he gets paid, but right now he is. People kind of sleep on him a bit. He’s one of the better centers in the league.

Capela is due to be a restricted free agent this summer.
