If the Falcons are going to get back to the playoffs this year, one crucial dynamic will be how well quarterback Matt Ryan works with new/former offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter.
The two did pretty well last time they were running Atlanta’s offense from 2012-14. Both Ryan and Koetter have evolved since then, though. Here’s what Ryan had to say about the reunion with Koetter, per CBS Sports Radio.
“I think we both learned a lot in the last four years since we’ve kind of gone our separate ways and competed against each other, and we’re both further along at this point in our careers. . . I’m excited about working with him. He brings a lot to our organization, to our team, a lot of knowledge, and it’s going to be great.”
Ryan had his moments with Koetter but he didn’t become an MVP until his second year with former OC Kyle Shanahan.
