Ex-Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett took to Instagram to advise his brother Michael on what he should expect from each of his new teammates.
Martellus Bennett might not be coming out of retirement and suiting up for the New England Patriots anytime soon, but that still didn’t stop him from trying to help out the team’s most high-profile new addition.
Just days after it was announced that his brother Michael Bennett would be traded to the Patriots for a fifth-round draft pick next year, Martellus Bennett created a lengthy Instagram post online congratulating his brother on the deal and welcoming him to the Patriot Way.
He started off the message by stating he was “excited to see you do work on the field in front of the best fans in all of sports,” before plunging into a point-by-point letter of advice and analysis on numerous members of the Patriots organization.
First, Bennett cautioned his brother to stay out of head coach Bill Belichick’s way before noting they might have “a lot to discuss as you both love history.” On the offensive side of the ball, he called quarterback Tom Brady “real down to earth,” labeled fullback James Develin “a good dude to talk to about life,” and noted that tight end Rob Gronkowski is “a lot smarter than people...
