The New York Giants are a losing franchise right now. You are what your record says you are and the Giants are 1-5 according the NFL standings this morning.
Their 34-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night sealed several things into the minds of all who watched it. They were poorly coached, executed whatever game plan they were given with a very noticeable half-heartedness at points and were outclassed up and down the field.
If it weren’t for rookie running back Saquon Barkley, one would have walked away from that experience with the notion the Giants were a completely talentless bunch.
Change has been constant since Dave Gettleman took over the reins as general manager last December and the Giants are still digesting much of it. A new coaching staff, new systems, new players and a new outlook have all been introduced.
Unfortunately, the results are the same. The Giants are still losing, still giving up way too many big plays on defense and not scoring enough points on offense. It’s a bad combination that will soon drop them further into NFL...
