The Houston Texans are in need of offensive lineman. When free agency opened on March 13 many expected general manager Brian Gaine to sign some offensive line help, and he did exactly that during the second wave of free agency by acquiring left tackle Matt Kalil.
The former Minnesota Viking and Carolina Panther met with the media during the club’s second day of offseason workouts Tuesday at NRG Park, and expressed his desire to join the AFC South champions from a year ago.
“As soon as I got released and I got called up by Houston, I didn’t hesitate — came here right away,” said Kalil
What the former 2012 first-round pick from USC appreciated about the Texans organization was their ability to keep guys healthy.
“Obviously, they’ve had a lot of great players who have had setbacks and feel like they have developed a system to keep people healthy and a lot of communication and a lot goes into keeping these guys healthy and coming up with the right schedules for each individual guy,” said Kalil. “Just kind of hearing that and everything they do really excited...
