So here’s the deal, folks. The Knicks have made some roster cuts in preparation for the season. It’s been a long time coming but today was the day.
The stretch of time Joakim Noah spent with his hometown New York Knicks has officially been stretched. Of course the epoch isn’t over. He’ll be taking a bite out of the Knicks’ cap space cookie for this year and the next three after that.
Jeff Coby, a Columbia alum, and Kadeem Allen will be missed but don’t be surprised if we see them pop up in Westchester. As W-Knicks it is highly likely that their contributions will directly influence the development of guys like Allonzo Trier and Mitchell Robinson.
As for Noah, who-a knows. He slapped out a few summer workout videos where he knocked down 100% of his corner threes and bodied HG Wells on the block. We’ll see where that takes him. At first blush you always think Tom Thibodeau will come calling, but it seems like he may have bigger pillows to fluff these days.
So where will Noah land? The Bay Area? Champagne Châlons-Reims Basket? He looks kinda like an old wizard. He could team up with OAKAAK legend Jimmy Baron. Come back to the NBA during the stretch run with the Cavs. I don’t know, crimestoppers. But something tells me this isn’t the last we’ve seen of old man <a...
