Jeff Saturday believes the Colts will finish with a record near 8-8

Jeff Saturday sat down Sunday evening to watch his former team take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

After watching, Saturday could tell this year’s team is already better than the 2017 version. He went as far as predicting where they will end up after 16 games.

“I think if they get anywhere near 8-8 — 7-9 or 9-7 — it will be a very, very good year,” Saturday said via the IndyStar. “They’ve got a lot of things to address.”

With a lot of fresh faces, and a quarterback still looking to get back into his old groove, the Colts are still in the rebuilding stage of Chris Ballard and Frank Reich’s tenure. There’s a lot of kinks to work out, and Saturday knows that.

“You’re coming off of (Andrew) Luck’s injury. You have a brand new offense, a new defense, a new head coach,” the former Colts center said. “All the newness is going to take some time to (work through).”

“There are still enough holes that need to be filled,” Saturday said. “It’s a game of attrition. The NFL is a game of attrition,” Saturday added....
