Jags expected to sign RB David Williams from the Broncos' practice squad

After losing tailback Corey Grant to a season-ending Lisfranc injury, it was clear the Jacksonville Jaguars would be making a move at his position as T.J. Yeldon and Brandon Wilds were their only healthy options. Per Ryan O’Halloran of the Denver Post, that signing will be a member from the Denver Broncos’ practice squad in David Williams, who is expected to sign with Jags Tuesday.

Williams, 24, was drafted by the Broncos in the seventh-round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Arkansas. At 6-foot-1, 229 pounds, he was more of a downhill runner during his time in the Southeastern Conference, which is exactly what the Jags need in the absence of Leonard Fournette. When you add in that, plus the fact that the Jags like rushers from big schools, their interest in him makes a lot of since as he’ll be the fourth SEC West rusher on their roster alongside Fournette and...
