Several big dates on the New Orleans Saints offseason calendar were reported Monday, helping to fill in their training camp schedule. Adam Schefter of ESPN shared a chart including the report dates and locations for each of the NFL’s 32 teams, with the Saints rookies scheduled to arrive for practice on July 18. As per usual, their veteran teammates will join them a week later on July 25. The 2019 Saints training camp will again be held at the team facility within the Ochsner Sports Performance Center in Metairie, La.
Jeff Duncan of the Times-Picayune added an interesting detail in his own report: the first padded practice will take place on July 27, a Saturday. In most years that first full-speed, padded session has included a Black and Gold Scrimmage, but the Saints have not said whether that tradition will continue just yet. This also means that Saints players will have a few days to get up to the speed before making full contact, easing them into the action.
Additionally, the Saints will join the Los Angeles Chargers in several days of practices before their August 18 preseason game. These joint practice sessions will be held on August 15 and 16 at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa,...
