There’s one thing the New York Giants (1-5) won’t be doing this week after their 33-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles (3-3), and that’s blaming the officials. They didn’t need any outside help in losing this one. Big Blue was very Lil’, playing poorly in all three facets of the game — offense, defense and special teams.
A struggling Eagles team came into MetLife Stadium and just shredded these Giants from beginning to end. One can’t imagine the Giants looking any worse than they did Thursday night. While the Eagles will go on and compete for the NFC East title, the Giants will be looking at another high draft pick.
It was the Eagles’ eighth win over the Giants in their last nine meetings and their 13th in the last 17.
Discipline and poise, along with cohesion and focus, seem to be lacking. Those were all issues under Ben McAdoo and new head coach Pat Shurmur hasn’t been able to instill any of that into this year’s squad despite a revamped coaching staff and a roster with over 30 new faces.
