Anthony Lynn said it’s possible second-year pro offensive lineman Forrest Lamp could see some time on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, depending on how practices goes this week, per ESPN’s Eric Williams.
The reason that’s interesting is Lynn could mean Lamp has a chance of starting or at least rotating with either current starting right guard Michael Schofield or right tackle Sam Tevi. Or, Lynn could think the Chargers will get a big lead and will be able to get Lamp some reps.
Last week, Tevi played a poor game. This is a run play. He wasn’t even involved, and he still gets beat. Watch #69, the right tackle.
That’s rough. That was also the story of the game for Tevi. These are the very next two plays, both passing. Dee Ford had his way with Tevi.
It’s pretty clear that Schofield outplayed Tevi. If Tevi is the weak link, figure out who is the better tackle between Lamp & Schofield, and the other plays right guard. Whether guard or tackle, Lamp needs to play. Hopefully against Buffalo, it’s sooner than later.
