Former Bears quarterback Shane Matthews was sentenced to three months in prison as a result of his role in Monty Grow’s health care fraud conspiracy.
Matthews was paid $440,000 for lining up sales representatives who then landed Tricare patients for the pharmacy Grow was associated with, according to the Miami Herald.
Matthews last appeared in an NFL game with the Redskins in 2004. He had two stints with the Bears (1993-1996, 1999-2001) and made 11 starts during that time. He threw for 3,461 yards, 19 touchdowns and 18 interceptions as a Bear.
