Falcons waive backup offensive tackle, sign a cornerback

The Falcons made a couple minor roster moves on Saturday afternoon. Atlanta announced two transactions on Twitter via its communications department.

The team has waived backup offensive tackle Kendall Calhoun and signed cornerback Ryan Neal (no relation to Keanu).

Calhoun was always a long shot to make the Falcons roster. His exit likely means that swing tackle Ty Sambrailo is ready to return to action after sitting out for a while with an injured hand.

Neal (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) was picked up by the Eagles last year after going undrafted out of Southern Illinois. He was waived by Philadelphia one week ago. Neal will also have a difficult road ahead with Atlanta’s secondary being as deep as it is.
