According to David Moore at the Dallas Morning News, Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence was fined over $20,000 for his hit in the first quarter on Cam Newton in last Sunday’s win for the Panthers.

Yes, when you’re making over a million dollars a week, $20,054 probably does not seem like a huge deal. Lawrence’s tag means Dallas will pay him a total of $17.143 million this year, per Over the Cap.

Lawrence was able to sack Newton once and had seven tackles, including three for a loss.

Meanwhile, Newton finished the evening with a team-high 58 rushing yards to go with a touchdown.
