The Colts made a big move today, placing offensive lineman Matt Slauson on IR. He was an offseason acquisition who had played very solidly so far this season for the Colts.
The Colts made a surprising move today. They decided to put Matt Slauson on IR today. This is surprising because there was no mention of any injury at any point this season for the guard. It’s a huge blow to the offensive line and the team in general.
With the offensive line already being banged up, this is exactly what the Colts didn’t need. They have been without Anthony Castonzo all season, and Joe Haeg has fallen victim to an ankle injury that could see him out at least a few more weeks.
Slauson had been a good lineman so far this year. He hasn’t been flashy, but has been solid. he was a good signing by Chris Ballard in the offseason. The Colts were able to run up the middle of the field partly because of his steady play.
The Colts will try to replace him with multiple players. Denzelle Good and Braden Smith seem to be the most likely candidate. Smith will probably slide into that guard position with Good sliding over to the right tackle position while Haeg continues to...
