Washington Redskins running back Chris Thompson has one of the greatest RBs of all time on his team currently in Adrian Peterson, but he still looks to model his game after someone else.
In a recent ESPN feature where they delved into current athlete’s favorite athletes, Thompson revealed that he has a soft spot for former Los Angeles Chargers legend LaDanian Tomlinson.
“My guy that I really looked up to was LaDainian Tomlinson,” said Thompson, via ESPN. “He was one of the first guys that I remember seeing that I paid attention to growing up that was a runner as well as a good receiver. That’s what I wanted my game to be.”
Tomlinson took the league by storm in the early part of the century, rushing for 145 touchdowns in his 11-year career. Thompson has a long way to go in order to put up eye-popping stats that would rival LT, but if he can even bring forth a semblance of the future Hall-of-Famer, the Redskins will be lucky.
