New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is no stranger to criticism, but as he gets up there in age, some of the shots he takes become increasingly ridiculous.
Such was the case last week when failed NFL quarterback and current NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms, son of retired Giants quarterback Phil Simms, broke out his rankings of the top 40 quarterbacks in football.
Not only was Manning at the very bottom of Simms’ list, he was actually placed behind several backup quarterbacks and rookies who have never taken a snap, barely beating out the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick and Robert Griffin III for No. 34 overall.

It’s hard to take anyone seriously when they tell you Tom Brady barely cracks the top 10, but it becomes even more difficult to react with anything other than laughter when you see quarterbacks like Ryan Tannehill, Josh Rosen, Jacoby Brissett, Joe Flacco, Andy Dalton and Case Keenum ranked above Manning.
Even some of Manning’s most fierce detractors couldn’t and wouldn’t support Simms’ list, and at this point, we’re not entirely convinced this wasn’t meant as a prank. After all, that would make far more...
