The Chiefs may be coming off the best defensive game they have all season.

Still the defensive side of the ball is the clear and glaring weakness of the 2018 team. Any chance they get, they should be looking to improve on that side of the ball. They have several defensive free agents in 2019 and they’ll need to re-sign them, add new free agents, or round things out in the draft.

First of all let’s talk about where the Chiefs are picking. 31 means Kansas City makes it to the Super Bowl and lose in the big game. That wouldn’t be a great outcome, but it’s good to know they’re getting the respect they deserve.

Taylor Rapp is really perfect for what the Chiefs do at the safety position. He’s aggressive and can fill multiple roles. He can play in the box, as a deep zone defender, and also match up in man coverage.

Rapp is great at tackling in space and he knifes through blockers to get to the ball carrier with ease. This kid is just a play-maker as he’s taken the ball away 8 times himself since 2016 and recovered three fumbles forced by others as...
