The Chargers 2018 NFL draft class was featured with some of the best defensive players at their perspective positions, and it showed on Sunday’s win against the Buffalo Bills. All four have made major contributions through just two games in the regular season.
Outside of fan’s being satisfied with the rookie’s production, their own teammate quarterback Philip Rivers had high praise following the game saying that they’re ‘the future of the team’ real sincere to the media, per the team’s official Twitter.
First-round pick Derwin James led the team with eight tackles while also recording one sack, two tackles for loss and one pass defensed. Second-rounder Uchenna Nwosu saw an uptick in his snaps after only getting two last weekend versus the Kansas City Chiefs. He recorded his first NFL sack.
Fourth-round selection Kyzir White hauled in his first career interception as part of three passes defensed. Third-round pick Justin Jones didn’t fill the stat sheet like those three, but he has emerged as an important factor against the run.
Rivers also mentioned wide receiver Mike Williams among those four rookies. The second-year wideout has been fantastic thus far, showing more confidence and he seems to be 100 percent health...
