The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are using the waiver wire to help fill their need for extra depth in the secondary, plucking a cornerback from a division rival.
De’Vante Harris was put on waivers by the New Orleans Saints, and the Bucs have claimed him:
An undrafted free agent from the 2016 class out of Texas A&M, Harris appeared in 24 games for the Saints over the past two season, making a pair of starts. Most of his game experience has come on special teams, which is where his best chance of making Tampa Bay’s squad would lie.
With Vernon Hargreaves III expected to miss the new few weeks with a groin injury, Harris will have a chance to make his case in preseason action before the team makes its final cuts.
