The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have about $70 million in cap space. That translates to about the fifth most in the league.
The Bucs could theoretically make a big splash in free agency and still have more than enough cap space leftover to re sign their own players plus their incoming rookie class.
Of course it will all be wasted if Bucs GM Jason Licht swings and misses. Again. Without being overly cynical, Licht has been much stronger at drafting than he has with his free agent signings. Perhaps Licht and the coaching staff aren't on the same page in terms of what they need from a potential free agent? Or maybe it's just dumb luck.
Either way, it's hard to be excited about having the fifth most cap room given the history of the current regime as it pertains to free agency.
