Former New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is exceptionally emotional, which some point to as a reason behind his trade to the Cleveland Browns earlier this week.
However, that doesn’t phase Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, who had gotten to know Beckham through his friends Sterling Shepard and Saquon Barkley.
Mayfield says that sort of emotion is the mark of a warrior and he’s excited to have Beckham come in and simply be who he is.
“You can say the same thing about me. You don’t want to tame [that emotion],” Mayfield told on Saturday. “You just let them be themselves and make plays. That’s who they are. When it comes down to it, the guys in that locker room you’re going to love playing with them.
“I know from Saquon [Barkley] and Sterling Shepard, I’m very close with, I know exactly who OBJ is inside the locker room and who he is to his teammates, And that’s the most important thing. People can have their, you know, attitudes and perspective on it, but he’s himself, and he also has his teammates back.”
