The Atlanta Hawks received some bad news Friday morning about an injury to franchise cornerstone John Collins.
John Collins was one of the lone bright spots for the Atlanta Hawks in 2017-18.
The team trotted out multiple lineups that featured players fighting for minutes in the NBA as well as players that were nowhere near the team’s future plans going forward.
There were only a handful of Hawks who were enjoyable to watch down the end of last season and one of them was the high-flying rookie out of Wake Forest: John Collins.
JC was exceptional in his rookie year and was deserving of a First Team All-Rookie spot, though he must be content with only making the Second Team after putting up 10 points and 7 rebounds per game in 2017-18.
With that impressive first season under his belt, expectations were high for Collins coming into his sophomore campaign (even from this very publication), but now a wrench has been thrown into those highfalutin plans.
