The Dallas Cowboys have a small logjam of star players in need of new deals entering the 2019 season. One of them is star wideout Amari Cooper, who was acquired via trade in the middle of the 2018 season and turned the direction of the franchise around. On Monday, Cooper joined the Dan Patrick Show and gave some insight into his background, from his high school days at Miami Northwestern to his collegiate time at Alabama.
Of course the topic of conversation eventually led to his free agent status and the marketplace both within the team and at his position. Recently the NFL has been awash in discussion about New Orleans Saints wideout Michael Thomas and how he and the team are around $4 million apart per season, with Thomas reportedly seeking $22 million a year.
Cooper, who has always shrugged off contract talks with the media, did so again when asked if he’s keeping a close eye on things down in the Bayou.
