Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston knows that the 2019 season is a make-or-break year for him, one that will determine whether or not he’s the long-term answer at the position for the team. Having quarterback guru Bruce Arians on board certainly helps, but when it comes down to it, Winston will be the one who needs to produce on the field.
After a strong start to his career, the Bucs have struggled mightily under Winston the past two years, finishing 5-11 in both 2017 and 2018. Plus, the team has had to deal with their quarterback’s off-the-field issues, something they were hoping wouldn’t follow him from his days at Florida State.
So, can Winston live up to the expectations and pressure of performing in his fifth year? According to NFL.com‘s Adam Rank, he projects Winston to be the team’s MVP in 2019. Here’s Rank’s reasoning.
