Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase has a lot of respect for the job Vic Fangio does with the Chicago Bears’ defense.
He should know. He saw it up close and personal as offensive coordinator in Chicago back in 2015.
“He makes it very difficult to prepare for, and you just know he has a good arsenal,” Gase said, via the Chicago Sun-Times. “He knows what he’s going to do to take things away. We have to be great in game adjustments.”
Gase was a young, up-and-coming play caller when he roamed the sidelines of Soldier Field. Four years later, he’s a seasoned head coach who learned a lot from the veteran defensive coordinator he’ll face on Sunday.
“The amount of conversations that we had the year I was there probably helped me grow a lot as to how I looked at things from an offensive perspective,” Gase said. “I really appreciated the amount of time he would spend if I asked him a question about what he thought.”
Gase never got to see Fangio with a talent like Khalil Mack on his defense, though. The Bears’ defensive coordinator has plenty to throw at the Dolphins head coach for their Week 6 matchup, and the chess match will be fun to watch in Miami on...
