A weaker West could help Denver Nuggets strike gold.

More Change in the Wild, Wild, West? Recently we looked at how Jimmy Butler’s trade request would aid the Denver Nuggets playoff aspirations. Amazingly, although we’re still awaiting the regular season it looks like Denver’s chances of making the playoffs will improve even more.

The reason for that latest development? The misfortune of the San Antonio Spurs. In all honesty, the San Antonio Spurs are the epitome of what championship caliber is all about.

The Spurs, (without Kawhi) continued their string of 21 straight playoff appearances.  Avoiding a sweep against the (Warriors) best team in basketball. Largely due to the indomitable spirit of future Hall of Famer, Manu Ginobli.

Next, the San Antonio Spurs masterfully dodged a bullet by patiently biding their time until their were able to trade Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to the Raptors for Demar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl.
