The NFL is really focused on figuring out this 18-game regular season thing. Now a new report is out that the NFL is thinking about going to players with a 16-18 game regular season — and yes, that’s the nomenclature I am using until we figure out something better. It seems like the best option. Preseason games aren’t really worth it for season ticket holders. Players don’t want to play 18-games because of player safety issues, but they don’t have to if this is put into place. What if you need a right tackle in the 18th game because you only carry four tackles and use a swing tackle to keep your offensive line fresh and three of the four played in too many games?
